Spend two peaceful mornings learning the ancient craft of basket weaving with experienced maker Nick Vane. Over fifteen years, Nick has guided countless people through their first basket, and in this intimate workshop, you'll discover the satisfaction of transforming natural willow into a beautiful, functional round basket with handle.

What You'll Learn
Following traditional methods, you'll learn how to select and prepare willow, use basketry tools safely, pair the base, stake up the sides, master a variety of basic weaves, finish a border, and attach a handle. Nick's small class size means you'll receive plenty of one-to-one guidance as you work. You'll also learn essential basketry terminology and where to source materials to continue your new craft at home.
What's Included
All willow and materials needed to make your basket, tools and equipment, and teas, coffee and freshly baked cakes throughout both sessions.
What to Bring
Please wear old clothes or bring an apron as the willow needs to be worked wet.
