SEWING SKILLS – HOMEWARE & ACCESSORIES with Annabelle Davis
At The Oast Studio, Hartfield, East Sussex
Ready to take your sewing beyond the basics and start making useful, beautiful things for yourself and your home? This hands-on workshop builds on our Beginners Sewing and Sewing Skills classes, introducing a range of techniques for creating bags, cushions and other practical sewing projects.
We'll explore some of the key skills involved in home and accessory sewing. There's plenty to cover, so the session is designed to introduce a range of techniques rather than practise every skill in detail. We'll focus our hands-on time on a selection of techniques and projects, chosen to suit the group and allow you to get the most from the session. With clear demonstrations, practical guidance and plenty of opportunity to ask questions, you'll leave with new skills, useful techniques and the confidence to take on a wider range of sewing projects at home.

Duration: Around 4.5 hours
Suitable for: Those who have completed our Beginners Sewing class, or are looking to increase their skills.
Class size: Maximum 8

Accurate measuring and cutting
Creating neat corners and edges
Adding structure to your projects
Achieving professional-looking finishes
A range of techniques for making bags, cushions and other practical items for the home
WHAT'S INCLUDED:
Plenty of fabric remnants to experiment with
Sewing machines (or you're welcome to bring your own)
Plentiful refreshments and home baked treats
WHAT TO BRING:
Nothing essential - everything is provided. You're welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you prefer.
