Learn the four most essential sewing techniques to take your skills to the next level. This hands-on workshop covers zips, hems, buttonholes, and seam finishes - giving you the confidence to take on a range of sewing projects with a professional touch.
By the end of the session, you’ll have practiced each technique on fabric samples and gained skills you can apply to your sewing projects at home.
This beginners’ sewing machine course covers:
Zips
Inserting a regular zip
Sewing a concealed (invisible) zip
Hems
Double-fold hem
Blind hem (by machine)
Rolled hem
Adding a frill (How to gather fabric)
Buttonholes and Buttons
Machine-sewn buttonholes (automatic & manual)
Attaching buttons securely
Seam Finishes
French seams
Overlock (using an overlocker OR overlocking alternatives)
Bound seams for a professional inside finish
