ROPE BOWLS - MACHINE SEWING CLASS AT THE OAST STUDIO, EAST SUSSEX
The most fun you can have with a bit of rope...
Please bring along your sewing machine, if you have one.
With Annabelle Davis
Discover the wonderfully therapeutic art of rope bowl making in this hands-on workshop that will completely change the way you think about your sewing machine. These sculptural little vessels are surprisingly simple to create, deeply satisfying to make, and we must warn you - utterly addictive!
Using light cotton rope and your machine's zigzag stitch, you'll learn how to coil, shape and stitch your way to beautiful little decorative bowls.
Experiment with contrasting threads, add pops of fabric for extra colour, and watch as your bowl grows.
This technique is wonderfully forgiving and perfect for sewers of all abilities. Whether you've been using your machine for years or are relatively new to sewing, you'll be amazed at what you can create in just one session.

About your sewing machine:
We encourage you to bring your own sewing machine if you have one - there's something lovely about getting to know your machine better and mastering a new technique on familiar equipment. However, if you don't own a machine, we have machines available to borrow for the session. Just let us know when booking so we can reserve one for you.
Come and spend a morning in our beautiful studio space, meet fellow makers, and leave with unique handmade bowls to treasure or gift, and a new hobby!
Accessibility: Please note that most courses are held upstairs. If you have any accessibility concerns, please let us know or check with us before booking. info@oaststudio.co.uk
