PATCHWORK

English Paper Piecing is a beautifully mindful way of sewing, using small hand-stitched shapes to build intricate patterns at a calm, unhurried pace.

In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn the traditional techniques behind EPP and discover why it has been loved by makers for generations.

Tutor: Annabelle Davis

Time: 9:30am – 1:30pm
Level: Suitable for all
Class size: 8 people

THIS CLASS IS PERFECT IF YOU:

Love the idea of slowing down and enjoying the process of sewing. EPP is portable sewing - perfect for evenings on the sofa, train journeys, or quiet moments with a cup of tea. No rush, no pressure, and no sewing machine or previous experience required.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

How to cut and attach your fabric to an EPP template
How to arrange your pieces into a geometric design
How to stitch the pieces together using whipstitch for a neat finish
How to remove the templates
Ideas on what to make with your new skills

WHAT YOU'LL MAKE

A sample 'Grandmothers Flower Garden' design, either backed with fabric to make a little placemat, or ready to continue at home and add to a large scale patchwork.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

All materials and equipment needed to make your patchwork.
Freshly baked custard tarts on arrival and tea and coffee throughout the class.
