The goldfinch is one of Britain's most joyful garden visitors - vivid, distinctive and instantly recognisable. In this wonderful hands-on workshop, you'll learn to recreate one in beautiful, lifelike detail using needle felting, guided every step of the way by the wonderfully talented Cecily Kate. From shaping the initial form to building up layers of colour, fashioning delicate legs and achieving that bright, glistening eye using nothing but wool, you'll leave with an artisan-quality bird that looks almost ready to take flight - mounted on its own birch base and ready to display at home. No experience needed, just a love of nature and a willingness to have a go!

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:
How to wrap and shape core wool forms. How to needle felt subtle, layered colour and feather effects. How to create a bright, glistening eye using only wool. How to fashion delicate legs and attach them to a birch base. Techniques that can be applied to many other needle felting projects.
