There's something deeply satisfying about making a cushion that looks as though it came from a proper interiors shop — not because it's complicated, but because you've learned the details that make all the difference. Piping is one of those details. This workshop will give you the skills and the confidence to use it.

THIS CLASS IS PERFECT IF YOU
You've been to one of our sewing workshops and want to take your skills a little further. You enjoy making things for your home and care about the finish. You'd like to learn techniques you'll use again and again.
WHAT YOU'LL MAKE
A beautiful piped cushion cover with a concealed zip, finished and ready to take home. You'll choose from our generous selection of fabric remnants, or bring your own - a metre for the cushion and a quarter metre for the piping works perfectly. A 45cm cushion pad is included.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
How to cut and prepare your fabric and piping. How to make and attach piping for a professional finish. How to insert a zip neatly. How to bring it all together into a cushion you'll be genuinely proud of.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
All materials and equipment, a large selection of fabric remnants, your cushion pad, tea, coffee and Alison's famous custard tarts on arrival, and a delicious home-made two-course lunch.
