Chickens are quirky and fun to needle felt due to all their amusing characteristics. You can really play with the wool and bring out the posturing of your hens and capture the little conversations they have with each other.
Making a hen is actually easier than it looks as their shape is less distinctive and there’s more freedom and leeway to experiment with colours and features.
During this workshop you will learn:
How to wrap the wire armature and make sturdy claws and legs.
How to shape the core wool body form.
How to sculpt the wool into the distinctive chicken shape and blend subtle shades for feather effects
How to create realistic wattle and comb and eyes that have a glint of light in them using only wool and your needle (no glass eyes).
