Spend a full day learning the ancient craft of willow basketry and go home with a beautiful round basket with handle, made entirely by hand. A calming, rhythmic and deeply satisfying day in the heart of East Sussex. You'd love to learn a traditional craft with real heritage and take home something beautiful and useful. You enjoy working with natural materials and learning by doing. WHAT YOU'LL MAKE A traditional round willow basket with handle, woven from scratch using premium English willow. Made entirely by hand using techniques passed down through generations - yours to take home at the end of the day. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN How to select and prepare natural willow. Safe handling of traditional basketry tools. How to create a round base using the pairing technique. How to stake and weave the sides using multiple traditional weave patterns. How to finish a professional border. How to craft and attach a simple handle. Nick will also cover basketry terminology and where to source materials so you can continue at home. Cancellation Policy

If you’re unable to attend for any reason, please note that we are unable to offer refunds for our courses. However, you are welcome to transfer your booking to a friend or family member — just let us know who will be attending in your place. Alternatively, once the course is fully booked, we can attempt to resell your spot through our database and social media. If we are successful, we can either issue a refund (minus a 10% administration fee) or offer you a place on an alternative course, subject to availability.
