VISIBLE MENDING Have the moths been at your favourite jumper? Are your trusty trousers wearing thin? Learn how to rescue them using a few simple hand stitching methods . This rewarding class is suitable for all levels including complete beginners and offers a chance to sit quietly with a cuppa and get stitching. Tutor: Annabelle Davis Time: 9:30am – 1:30pm Level: Suitable for all Class size: 8 people Give your well-loved clothes and fabrics a second life in this relaxed visible mending workshop. You’ll learn simple hand-stitching techniques to repair and strengthen worn fabric, using colour and texture to let the repair become part of the garment’s story. Suitable for beginners, this is slow, satisfying sewing with no pressure for perfection, just practical skills, thoughtful making, and something mended to take home with pride. THIS CLASS IS PERFECT IF YOU: Enjoy thoughtful, hands-on making and want to learn skills that genuinely make a difference. Visible mending is a simple, creative way to keep well-loved clothes and other textiles in use for longer, helping to reduce waste. Whether you’re new to sewing or looking to repair more mindfully, this is a calm, confidence-building class with lasting impact, both for your wardrobe and the environment. YOU WILL LEARN TO: Understand the ethos of visible mending (repair as decoration) Confidently thread needles and work with embroidery and darning thread Try different visible mending techniques Feel empowered to keep mending at home WHAT'S INCLUDED All materials and equipment needed. Freshly baked custard tarts on arrival and tea and coffee throughout the class. PLEASE BRING: 1–2 clean fabric items needing repair (holes, worn knees/elbows, fraying seams, thinning fabric) ACCESSIBILITY Some of our classes are held upstairs. Cancellation Policy

If you’re unable to attend for any reason, please note that we are unable to offer refunds for our courses. However, you are welcome to transfer your booking to a friend or family member — just let us know who will be attending in your place. Alternatively, once the course is fully booked, we can attempt to resell your spot through our database and social media. If we are successful, we can either issue a refund (minus a 10% administration fee) or offer you a place on an alternative course, subject to availability.
