THE OAST POLAR BEAR with Cecily Kate At The Oast Studio, Hartfield, East Sussex The polar bear is one of nature's great wonders. The largest land carnivore on Earth, it roams the Arctic sea ice, and beneath that snowy coat its skin is actually black, with hollow, translucent hairs that give it its famous white glow. Inspired by the stunning polar bear photographs taken by one of our wonderful Oast customers, Gillian Lloyd, we are delighted to bring you this brand new needle felting class. Discover the gentle, meditative craft of needle felting as you sculpt your very own polar bear. In this hands on session, Cecily Kate will guide you step by step, from the first wrapped forms right through to the finishing touches that give your bear its character and charm. Please note some 3D needle felting experience is essential for this class. THE DETAILS: Duration: 4.5 hours Suitable for: Some 3D needle felting experience is essential for this class Class size: 7 WHAT YOU'LL LEARN: Wrapping and shaping core wool into the body, head and limbs Building and securely joining the sculptural forms Felting the muzzle, rounded ears and broad paws Adding facial details to bring warmth and expression to your bear Finishing with a layer of snowy white wool for a smooth, soft result WHAT'S INCLUDED: All wool and materials Use of all needle felting tools, needles and mats Plentiful refreshments and home baked treats WHAT TO BRING: Nothing at all - everything you need is provided. If you’re unable to attend for any reason, please note that we are unable to offer refunds for our courses. However, you are welcome to transfer your booking to a friend or family member — just let us know who will be attending in your place. Alternatively, once the course is fully booked, we can attempt to resell your spot through our database and social media. If we are successful, we can either issue a refund (minus a 10% administration fee) or offer you a place on an alternative course, subject to availability.
