NEEDLE FELTING WORKSHOP - MAKE A PIED WAGTAIL

Join us for a relaxed, small-group needle felting workshop in East Sussex, led by textile artist Cecily Kate of Art Felt Fibres. In this hands-on class, you’ll create a beautiful, artisan-quality Pied Wagtail using traditional needle felting techniques - no prior experience needed.

Location: Hartfield, East Sussex
Class size: Maximum 6 people (small group tuition)
Skill level: Suitable for beginners and all abilities
This friendly, supportive workshop is ideal if you’re looking for a creative morning, a thoughtful gift experience, or a chance to learn needle felting in a calm countryside studio setting.
WHAT YOU WILL MAKE
You will create an artisan-quality needle felted Pied Wagtail, inspired by this iconic black-and-white British bird, famous for its lively tail-wagging and bold markings. Your finished bird will be yours to take home at the end of the class.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
During this needle felting class, you will learn:
How to wrap and shape core wool forms
How to use subtle shades of monochrome wool to create realistic feather detail
How to needle felt expressive features, including a glint in the eye, using only wool
How to make and attach a beak
How to wrap and form delicate legs
These techniques can be applied to future needle felted animals and birds.
