Join Andri for a calm and creative workshop exploring Modern Kintsugi – a contemporary expression of the Japanese philosophy of finding beauty in imperfection. Working with a pre-broken ceramic bowl, you’ll use modern materials to reassemble and transform it with soft golden joins, creating a beautiful and deeply personal piece to treasure.
Inspired by the traditional Japanese art of Kintsugi, this mindful, hands-on session blends creativity and reflection. As the workshop unfolds, Andri will guide you through the process step by step – from bringing the fragments together to highlighting the joins with gold powder, creating gentle, shimmering lines that celebrate each imperfection.
You’ll also discover the philosophy behind Kintsugi – its roots, symbolism, and how modern techniques allow this centuries-old art to be enjoyed by everyone. Each bowl becomes unique, a reflection of your own rhythm, imagination, and quiet artistry.
No experience is needed and all materials are provided. You’ll leave with a completed piece and a wonderful sense of calm from the meditative process of mindful making.
You will...
• Discover the philosophy and symbolism behind Kintsugi.
• Learn how traditional ideas meet modern, accessible techniques.
• Create your own bowl with soft golden joins using fine bronze powder.
• Explore Wabi-Sabi and the beauty of imperfection.
• Take home a unique piece that reflects transformation and calm.
