MINIATURE AUTUMN TRIO Needle Felting with Cecily Kate At The Oast Studio, Hartfield, East Sussex In this lovely workshop you'll be taught how to needle felt three beautiful small autumn landscapes - a perfect make for beginners and intermediate felters alike. Images of landscapes are provided as inspiration to work from, and you'll learn to lay out dry, loose wool fibres in layers onto a pre-felt 'canvas', much as you would build up layers in a watercolour painting. 'Painting' with wool is a magical process - fibres can be added and removed easily without damaging the landscape, and the soft, cloudy quality of the wool creates a diffused image, reminiscent of an impressionist painting. Cecily Kate will guide you every step of the way, from colour choices to creating depth, perspective, light and shadow, as you gradually needle felt the layers and build up your scene. We'll frame the finished pieces too, so you can take the whole set straight home to hang on your wall, or gift each one to someone special. THE DETAILS: Time: 9:00am–1:30pm Suitable for: All Class size: 7 WHAT YOU'LL LEARN: How to lay and layer loose wool fibres onto a pre-felt canvas, how to choose colours and create depth, perspective, light and shadow, and how to needle felt your layers down to build a soft, impressionistic landscape. Please note this is a needle felting workshop - no wet felting involved. WHAT'S INCLUDED: All materials needed, three small shadow box frames with glass, felt canvas, plus teas, coffees and delicious freshly baked cakes from The Oast Bakery. If you’re unable to attend for any reason, please note that we are unable to offer refunds for our courses. However, you are welcome to transfer your booking to a friend or family member — just let us know who will be attending in your place. Alternatively, once the course is fully booked, we can attempt to resell your spot through our database and social media. If we are successful, we can either issue a refund (minus a 10% administration fee) or offer you a place on an alternative course, subject to availability.
