Service Description

NEEDLE FELTED SPRING LANDSCAPES WORKSHOP With Cecily Kate TIME: 9:00am – 1:30pm SUITABLE FOR: All levels CLASS SIZE: 6–8 people WHAT’S INCLUDED - All materials needed - Three small shadow box frames with glass - Felt canvas - Teas, coffees, and delicious freshly baked cakes from The Oast Bakery ABOUT THE WORKSHOP Join Cecily Kate at The Oast Studio for a calm and creative needle felting workshop, where you’ll learn how to create three beautiful Spring-inspired felted landscapes to frame and take home. This workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with some experience and offers a gentle introduction to painting with wool. Working from provided landscape imagery for inspiration, you’ll learn how to lay dry, loose wool fibres in soft layers onto a pre-felt canvas, much like building up layers in a watercolour painting. Needle felting landscapes is a wonderfully forgiving and meditative process. Fibres can be easily added or removed, allowing you to experiment freely as your scene evolves. The soft, cloudy quality of wool creates a beautifully diffused image, reminiscent of impressionist paintings. Cecily will guide you step by step, helping you develop depth, perspective, light, and shadow as you gradually build up your landscape. You’ll finish by adding delicate Spring details such as flowers and gentle foreground elements to bring your scenes to life. Once complete, your three landscapes will be framed in glass-fronted shadow boxes, ready to hang at home or give as thoughtful handmade gifts. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN - How to work with dry wool fibres for needle felting - How to layer colour and texture to create depth and atmosphere - Techniques for light, shadow, and perspective in felted landscapes - How to ‘paint’ with wool in a calm, intuitive way Accessibility: most courses are held upstairs. If you have any accessibility concerns, please let us know or check with us before booking. info@oaststudio.co.uk
