Discover the art of wet and needle felting in our welcoming Hartfield studio. Over two consecutive mornings, you’ll create a beautiful felted lampshade that brings warmth and character to your home. Day one: You’ll learn traditional wet felting techniques to create a smooth, seamless felt fabric using soft merino wool and your own ideas to create your design. Day two: You'll focus on needle felting, where you’ll add decorative details, texture, or pattern before shaping and assembling your lampshade onto its frame. This workshop is ideal for anyone seeking a calm, creative escape. Working with natural fibres and time-honoured techniques, you’ll enjoy a mindful, hands-on experience with plenty of individual guidance throughout. You’ll learn: - Wet and needle felting techniques - How to create even, seamless felt - Designing and embellishing your lampshade - Shaping felt around a three-dimensional form - Finishing and attaching felt to a lampshade frame - Understanding felt materials and sourcing supplies PLEASE NOTE: Wet felting involves working with water and soap, so please wear clothes you don't mind getting damp or bring an apron. If you’re unable to attend for any reason, please note that we are unable to offer refunds for our courses. However, you are welcome to transfer your booking to a friend or family member — just let us know who will be attending in your place. Alternatively, once the course is fully booked, we can attempt to resell your spot through our database and social media. If we are successful, we can either issue a refund (minus a 10% administration fee) or offer you a place on an alternative course, subject to availability.
