CUSHION MAKING: CONCEALED ZIP with Annabelle Davis At The Oast Studio, Hartfield, East Sussex Spend some creative time in our rural sewing studio learning how to make a beautiful cushion featuring a perfectly concealed zip. With clear demonstrations and time to practice, we will guide you through everything from choosing a suitable fabric to finishing your seams neatly and of course getting that zip set in just right. THE DETAILS: Duration: 4.5 hours Suitable for: All Class size: 8 WHAT YOU'LL LEARN: How to set up your machine correctly How to choose fabrics and cut accurately How to insert a concealed zip using the correct presser foot How to get your corners sharp and your seams straight and well finished WHAT'S INCLUDED: Everything you need! We provide a choice of fabric, the zip and a nice plump duck feather cushion pad to pop inside your finished cover, so that your cushion will be ready to sit on as soon as you get home. There will also be plenty of tea and coffee plus our freshly baked custard tarts from The Oast Bakery on arrival. You are welcome to use one of our machines or bring your own. WHAT TO BRING: If you'd prefer to bring your own fabric, you will need half a metre of medium weight cotton or linen. Please avoid velvet or other fabrics with a nap. If you’re unable to attend for any reason, please note that we are unable to offer refunds for our courses. However, you are welcome to transfer your booking to a friend or family member — just let us know who will be attending in your place. Alternatively, once the course is fully booked, we can attempt to resell your spot through our database and social media. If we are successful, we can either issue a refund (minus a 10% administration fee) or offer you a place on an alternative course, subject to availability.
