Service Description
EASTER CHICK NEEDLE FELTING CLASS at The Oast Studio, Hartfield, East Sussex There's something utterly irresistible about a needle felted chick - and in this Easter workshop with the talented Cecily Kate, you'll create your very own from scratch. Starting with a simple wool core you'll learn to sculpt and shape, blending beautiful shades of downy yellow to bring your chick to life. Cecily Kate will guide you through every detail; from wrapping delicate wire feet and crafting a perfect beak, to creating realistic eyes that catch the light using nothing but wool and your needle. The results are truly magical. You'll also learn how to observe and capture the essence of these beloved little birds - the very creatures that have come to symbolise the joy of spring and Easter. These adorable chicks can also be made without legs, making them wonderfully versatile little Easter decorations for your home. During this workshop you'll learn to: Shape and sculpt a wool core body form Blend subtle shades of downy yellow wool for a lifelike finish Create realistic eyes with a natural glint of light - no glass eyes needed Wrap delicate wire feet Observe and capture the character of real chicks in your work Suitable for: all skill levels complete beginners are very welcome. All materials included. Maximum 7 per class. Teas, coffees and freshly baked Oast Bakery cakes throughout. Accessibility: Please note that most courses are held upstairs. If you’re unable to attend for any reason, please note that we are unable to offer refunds for our courses. However, you are welcome to transfer your booking to a friend or family member — just let us know who will be attending in your place. Alternatively, once the course is fully booked, we can attempt to resell your spot through our database and social media. If we are successful, we can either issue a refund (minus a 10% administration fee) or offer you a place on an alternative course, subject to availability.
