BUTTERFLIES IN COLOURED PENCIL With Amber Halsall At The Oast Studio, Hartfield, East Sussex Spend a day learning to draw butterflies in coloured pencil - working from photographs to create a finished study you'll be genuinely proud of. No artistic experience needed, just a willingness to look closely and take your time. THE DETAILS: Time: 10am–4:30pm Suitable for: All, beginners and more experienced alike Class size: 8 THIS CLASS IS PERFECT IF YOU: Have always wanted to draw but never felt confident enough to try Love butterflies and the natural world and would like to capture them on paper Enjoy a focused, unhurried creative process with expert guidance throughout WHAT YOU'LL MAKE: A finished botanical-style study of a butterfly in coloured pencil, worked from photographs. Detailed, true to life and entirely your own ready to frame and keep, or give as a gift. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN: How to layer and blend coloured pencil to recreate a butterfly's natural colours and the subtle sheen of its wings, how to mix colours to match your subject, when and how to use embossing for fine details such as veins and antennae, and how to build realistic texture and delicate markings. Amber will demonstrate throughout the day and offer step-by-step guidance and one-to-one support, so you can work entirely at your own pace. WHAT'S INCLUDED: All materials needed for the class, a delicious two-course lunch, plus refreshments and home-baked treats throughout the day. WHAT TO BRING: Just yourself - everything is provided. If you’re unable to attend for any reason, please note that we are unable to offer refunds for our courses. However, you are welcome to transfer your booking to a friend or family member — just let us know who will be attending in your place. Alternatively, once the course is fully booked, we can attempt to resell your spot through our database and social media. If we are successful, we can either issue a refund (minus a 10% administration fee) or offer you a place on an alternative course, subject to availability.
