27th June

10am - 4.30pm

With Annabelle Davis

Suitable for: Beginners and Improvers

Class Size: 6

Learn some essential sewing skills as we explore the art of making a classic patchwork cushion.

You will learn:

  • How to set up your sewing machine - and some trouble shooting

  • How to understand the different qualities of fabric

  • How to assemble your patchwork pieces

  • How to sew and finish seams neatly

  • How to turn your patchwork into a beautiful cushion

What's included:

  • A large selection of fabric remnants

  • One 45cm x 45cm cushion pad

  • All other materials needed

  • Tea, coffee and custard tarts on arrival

  • A delicious home-made lunch

We will spend the morning selection fabrics and creating a 3x3 square patchwork panel. Once this is ready - and we have enjoyed a delicious lunch, we will have the afternoon to turn this panel into a beautiful cushion ready for the sofa.

We have a good selection of fabric remnants to choose from, but you are also welcome to bring along any pieces you may like to include. Please avoid any velvets of fabrics with a nap.

Alison from The Oast Bakery will treat us to some of her delicious baking and plenty of teas and coffees to keep us going.

You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine, or use one of ours.

"I had such a good day.

Thank you Annabelle for all your sewing expertise and guidance and Alison for the delicious food. It’s the equivalent of a day at a spa, soul nurturing, a day for oneself, creating something with your hands."
