Largely associated with traditional beekeeping bee skeps were handcrafted from twisted golden straw and bound with twine. Used for swarm collecting and providing bee colonies a place to build their honey combs their iconic shape made its way into children’s books and etchings from a bygone era, conjuring up and golden hazy days of summer.
These gorgeous felted Skeps and woolly bees make a beautiful decorative addition to any home, especially as an adorable feature on a child’s bookshelf or simply nestled amongst a bunch of flowers on the kitchen table while hot buttered toast and honey is served for breakfast … and naturally makes a heart felt gift for a bee lover.
