This workshop is perfect for those who have been on one of our beginner's cushion making workshops, or for those who already have some basic sewing skills and would like to explore the art of cushion making a little further.
You will learn:
How to insert a concealed zip
How to add piping
How to add a frill or other trim
What's included:
A large selection of fabric remnants
One 45cm x 45cm cushion pad
All other materials needed
Tea, coffee and custard tarts on arrival
A delicious home-made lunch
Adding some piping or a frill takes a cushion to a new level. You can have fun playing with colour contrasts and really improve your sewing skills and knowledge.
If you would like to chose your own fabric, please bring half a metre for your cushion, plus half a meter for either piping or a frill. A medium weight cotton or linen are easiest to work with and appropriate for this project. Please avoid velvet or any fabric with a nap.
Alison from The Oast Bakery will treat us to some of her delicious baking and plenty of teas and coffees to keep us going.
You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine, or use one of ours.
"I had such a good day.
Thank you Annabelle for all your sewing expertise and guidance and Alison for the delicious food. It’s the equivalent of a day at a spa, soul nurturing, a day for oneself, creating something with your hands."
